How we verify your attorneys
What "verified" means on your firm page, where we check it, and how to add an attorney who's missing.
What we check
We match each attorney to the state bar's own roster: name, bar number and active status. In states whose bar publishes no roster, we use ACTEC, NELF or board-certification lists instead and say so on the page.
Each firm page shows how we verified its attorneys, so families can look themselves.
Adding or fixing an attorney
- Send the attorney's full name and bar number.
- Tell us which office they work from.
- If someone has left the firm, tell us and we'll update the page.
Email it all to corrections@honestfarewell.org.
